Peg Wetli respects the ocean and its shells. She only takes dead shells that have gathered at the shoreline, specifically looking for ones that have the potential to become elegant necklaces. When Peg spots a perfect shell, she bends down, picks it up, and puts it in her gathering bag. Peg never takes more than her medium-sized bag will hold, and she never goes to the beach more than three times a week, four-five months each year.
